I realize that radio stations must
sell advertising so that they can play the music I like. But the
current blitz of ads send me running to purchase CD's so that I
can hear the music I like and NOT hear obnoxious ads.
Would I buy a car from these
places? Not on your life. If they are that annoying on the
radio, what would their sales people be like in person? Matter
of fact, I would drive a long way NOT to visit their place of
business.
And what's this under invoice
pricing? Do they really think the consumer is so stupid that we
don't know that the invoice price could be anything? Do they
mean, under sticker price? No one thinks they will pay the
sticker price anyhow. They try to make it sound like the
invoice is their cost? Who are they kidding? After all, radio
ads are expensive, so someone has to pay for them.
I wonder if new car sales are
that competitive that they have to fool customers to get them to
their place of business. Do those foolish visitors have the
means to buy a car anyhow?
If it is the radio station's
fault that these ads are so obnoxious, maybe we should protest
to the stations themselves. Better yet, hit the dealership in
the pocket by refusing to buy products from companies whose ads
feature loud noises, yelling salesmen, or ads aimed at customers
with low IQ's. |
