This year I was so thankful
for the rain. Not only did it keep the heat away, it also
kept many people away. I know that sounds selfish, but I
wanted a chance at the quilt auction. I have attended this
auction for several years. It is a yearly get away for my
dear friend Valerie Raines and I. We are getting smarter
each year, learning to avoid exhaustion, both physically and
financially.
This was also the first
year that I actually got any of the homemade chicken and
noodles. I was happy to meet some folks from an internet
mail list that I've been on for years,
NEW
OKIE PIONEERS . I didn't buy much at auction, but then I
didn't need much. I am happy with the ice cream maker,
animal traps and antique photos that did make their way home
with me. But most of all, I appreciate the fine memories
made each year. It is good to know that my money goes to
support their school. |
